Never have we ever worked so hard on an installation. This massive project for NewQuest Properties put our abilities to the test and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. All in all it took us 71 hours and we used 27 gallons of paint. There are twelve murals in total, spanning two separate corridors of the new Stableside at Falcon Landing shopping center. Six live on one end of the center and six live on the other, so almost no matter how you enter the shopping center you are faced with color. Our goal was to transform the beige walls and create playful and happy murals that draw visitors into the shopping center.
We initially presented 36 different designs to NewQuest for the 12 walls they were interested in painting. We were happy to overwhelm them with possibilities and make the elimination process difficult. In the end, we worked together to condense the designs and choose 12 that fit together nicely and felt cohesive with the family-friendly vibe of Stableside. Katy has award-winning schools, so the area attracts many young families and they are the target demographic for the shopping center. There is a coffee shop, children’s boutique, great restaurants, and now some amazing art to engage its customers.
