Lululemon San Diego 10k Mural
November 2019 • San Diego, California
Designing a custom free-standing mural backdrop for a major running event? Absolutely.
This experiential mural installation was created for Lululemon during their first-ever 10K race in the United States. Built as a large-scale, moveable mural backdrop, this piece was designed specifically for event activation, giving hundreds of runners a vibrant, photo-worthy moment to engage with throughout the day.
The freestanding mural structure was custom-built by a local San Diego fabricator and painted off-site at Pandr Design Co.’s studio before being transported and installed at the event. The design was inspired by classic San Diego colors, incorporating bold, dynamic lettering and high-contrast graphics to create an energetic, branded backdrop that stood out in photos and social media content.
Event murals like this are a powerful way for brands to create interactive experiences, increase visibility, and leave a lasting impression on attendees. This Lululemon 10K mural served as both a visual centerpiece and a functional photo backdrop, drawing runners in and encouraging organic sharing across social platforms.
It was incredible to see so many participants engaging with the mural in real time—snapping photos, celebrating their race, and connecting with the brand in a fun, memorable way. Projects like this highlight how custom murals and branded installations can elevate events, races, and experiential marketing activations.
We’d love to collaborate on more event murals and branded backdrops like this in San Diego and beyond.
