The New England Patriots Run on Dunkin’!

August 2023 • Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA

Two things synonymous with New Englanders? Their love of Dunkin’, and their Patriot's fandom.

It’s no exaggeration that even in negative temps, people in Boston will be ordering their coffee iced. It’s a way of life - so what better way to capture this unique energy than by painting a 20 foot iced coffee with a Patriots-themed donut on top?

Pandr loves working with the corporate team at Dunkin’; we have a great history and have done multiple projects for them over the years. But this job at Gillette Stadium was our biggest yet. Our mission was two fold: cover the exterior wall of a Dunkin’ shop with a gigantic iced coffee mural, and design a vinyl mural that could cover the interior walls.

In the weeks leading up to the mural install, we worked on the vinyl design for the interior walls. Using the core brand colors only, we landed on a navy blue background with Pats, Dunkin’, and local iconography scattered all over for the shop’s lobby. We copied this same design, but turned it grayscale for the bathroom hallway walls.

We’ll take any excuse to design a vinyl mural. They’re a great way for businesses in semi-permanent spaces to showcase their unique brand in a renter-friendly way. If you’re interested in offering vinyls or how to produce them yourself, check out our blog post, Vinyl Murals: What to Consider and How to Price Them. See the other vinyls we’ve created for Dunkin’ over the years here.

While we had the final product shipped over to the Dunkin’ team to put on the interior walls themselves, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work installing the iced coffee mural. We used the Doodle Grid Method to lay out our design, which was the perfect technique for this project since it requires no projector, meaning we could work in broad daylight - which is exactly what we did!

Once we set up our scaffolding and got to painting, it quickly became obvious that we were basically putting on a live-painting event. Bruce Springsteen was in town this weekend for a run of concerts, so Patriot’s Place started to get “wicked” busy (as the locals say) - we answered a lot of questions from curious passersby and posed for a ton of photos, all to the tune of the infamous Boston accent.

This mural took about 2 days start to finish (not including drying time), and was generally such a fun day! Boston fans are no joke… and they genuinely do Run on Dunkin’.
